Cutting PSDs
Yay!! Finally a GOOD PSP tutorial, lmao :D I decied to write this because I saw people cutting PSDs with PSP that were all jagged edge. Soo I decided to give them a little help.
1) Of course, find the picture you want to cut. I normally cut pretty large pictures, but this is just a fast cut, because I'm lazy.
2) Right click the background and choose duplicate. Now you should have 2 layers! Then click the eyeball on the bottom layer. This will toggle the invisibility and make the second layer go invisible. But why? Because if you don't, then the PSD will have a background color, which completely defeats the point of cutting them.
3) Grab the election tool, and click freehand selection
4) Put your settings like mine.
Point to point, smoothing 5|
Antialias checked. Antialias gets rid of the jaggedness :)
5) Cut around where you want it to be transparent, on the top layer.
This is my finished result. It' saved sorta low quality.
But look! No jagged edges! =)
Then go to file > save as.
Name it whatever you want, and save it as filetype PSD.
